I’ve been teaching art to kids and adults for 15 years, from homeschool groups to summer camps, private lessons to community workshops.
School and Community programs
I’ve worked with many community groups to create art and puppets, including Asheville Parks and Rec, Buncombe County Libraries, Unitarian Church of Asheville, Enough Pie Charleston, Asheville Homeschool Coop, and Los Angeles Audubon Center. I often incorporate art history or ecology themes into the projects. I’m available to bring half day to 1 week programs to your space, and to teach weekly classes by the month or semester. Contact me for rates.
I love to work one on one, customizing the class to the student’s interests. I have worked with children and adults with different abilities. I charge 25.00 per 90 minute lesson in my home in West Asheville, NC, a cozy creative space with gardens, chickens and cats.
Materials and Methods
I’ve taught a wide variety of art materials and methods, including drawing, painting, mixed media, fashion design, digital arts, paper mache, clay sculpture, mold making and casting, printmaking, costume and prop making, artists books, mosaics. I especially enjoy teaching puppetry.
