Western Carolina AIDS Project

WNCAP was a recent community partner.
Organized in 1986 in response to the needs of the community in the early years of the AIDS epidemic, WNCAP is still dedicated to preventing new cases of HIV/AIDS and promoting self-sufficiency in people living with HIV. WNCAP provides HIV-related client support, prevention education, harm reduction, syringe services and advocacy activities guided by the belief that all people are entitled to equal access to health care. Buncombe County Schools Migrant Education Program

Our first community partner and mask recipient was Buncombe County Schools Migrant Education Program.  This is a federally funded program that assists migratory farm worker students in achieving academic success. Learn more about this program and their mission here. Masks of Love was excited to be able to help provide masks to our neighbors in this manner!

My Daddy Taught Me That

My Daddy Taught Me That was a community partner last summer. They are an amazing Asheville based youth development program designed to support young men through advocacy, education, and mentoring. Their focus is to teach young men how to transition from the young teen adolescent time in their lives into responsible young men; focusing on good decision making, accepting responsibility, and being accountable for their actions. Umoja Health, Wellness & Justice Collective

We were glad to support Umoja Health, Wellness and Justice Collective with a mask donation. Umoja is Creating Community through Connection and Culture. They were founded in 2019 to address trauma, healing and resilience through creating a community of connections. The Collective is specifically but not limited for POC to become aware of the racial, inter-generational, historical traumas and to build a narrative of resilience. The collective offers: Men's and Women's Health and Wellness groups; Culturally Aligned Peer Support Services; Multi-Generational Healing through the Arts program; Community-Based Wealth Building.
